Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi. You will be met by our Safari representative for a short safari briefing and introduction to your Kenya safari. Depart Nairobi heading north through the rich agricultural region with coffee, wheat and horticulture farms among other plantations. Cross the Equator at Nanyuki and proceed north before descending from the cool highlands into the wildlife rich northern Savannah woodlands. Arrive at the sweetwaters in time for lunch.
Ol Pejeta is East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees. Overnight will be at the Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp. A sheltered oasis, clustered around a water hole and set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Sweetwaters Tented Camp offers a charming blend of under-canvas ambiance and safari luxury.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta Conservancy to Lake Naivasha
You will have an early morning drive at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. You will visit the Chimpanzee sanctuary before departing the conservancy for Lake Naivasha.
Lake Naivasha was designated as a Ramsar site in 1995 and is managed by the local property owners under the Lake Naivasha Riparian Association formed in 1934. The lake provides diverse habitats for a variety of mammals, birds and fish. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat ride coming up close with the hippos that inhabit the Lake among other mammal species. Dinner & overnight at lodge
Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
Early breakfast and depart your camp heading for the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will drive into Masai land tracing the rift valley escarpment and open wild plains before making a stopover at the Masai town of Narok. Continue towards the Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
This is probably one of Kenya’s most visited reserve with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River cuts through the Mara and Serengeti Eco systems giving life to the both reserves finally pouring out into the Lake Victoria.
Impressive and most notable is the wildebeest, zebra and gazelle instinct led migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya. This journey is coupled by numerous obstacles which makes it even more magnificent.
Dinner & overnight at the camp/lodge
Day 4: On safari at Masai Mara
You will be treated to a full day game drive within this expansive reserve teeming with wildlife.
The Masai Mara is probably one of Kenya’s most visited reserve with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big five and many other varieties of plains game.
We will spend a full day in and around the unending rolling plains of the Mara. This is one of the richest predator areas of the Mara and will be our focus for this day. However, this is one of the most lush reserves in Africa and we will probably see lots of Elephants, Hippos, Masai giraffe, common zebra, wildebeest, impala, Thompson’s and Grant’s gazelles, Topi, Black-backed jackal, spotted hyena and more during these two days.
You will be treated to a bush picnic lunch and return to your lodge/camp with a game drive en route.
Day 5: Masai Mara to Nairobi
Breakfast and leave the Masai Mara. Enjoy extra game viewing en route as you drive through the plains and the floor of the Great Rift Valley arriving in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi early afternoon. Once you arrive in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the airport, residence or your hotel of choice.
