Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park

Amboseli may be smaller than many other Kenyan parks, but it packs a lot into a very small space. For starters, the views here are astonishing because Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro (5895m), looms over the park to the south. Best of all, the mountain provides a backdrop to many fantastic wildlife sightings that almost always include elephants with big tusks, as well as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeests and gazelles. Birders can also look for the park’s 420 different recorded species

• Transfer by Road, Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

• Lunch is always a highlight, so relax and enjoy our food.

Afternoon

Come and enjoy all that Amboseli has to offer on a guided game drive this afternoon. Elephants, big cats and Mt Kilimanjaro views are all possible as you explore the park with an expert guide.

Evening

This evening we’ll be serving you a dinner to remember.

Meal Plan – Day 1:  Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation | Day 1: Amboseli Sopa Lodge | Just outside Amboseli National Park

There are lots of reasons to like Amboseli Sopa Lodge, your base for visiting Amboseli National Park. The lodge has a quiet location some distance east of the park, the restaurant and bar are good, and the rooms have plenty of color and character. Best of all are the Mt Kilimanjaro views from the swimming pool and other places around the expansive grounds.

Spend more time getting to know magnificent Amboseli National Park.

• You’ll be joining us in Amboseli National Park for a guided game drive. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see some of the animals you came so far to see

Join us for a picnic in Amboseli National Park, where you get to eat great food while surrounded by nature

It’s time for you to go on a guided game drive in Amboseli National Park this afternoon. No matter how many times you go, you’ll never grow tired of the experience.

Meal Plan – Day 2: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Accommodation | Day 1: Amboseli Sopa Lodge | Just outside Amboseli National Park

Day 3: Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park

Enjoy getting to know Tsavo West, with its stunning landscapes and interesting populations of elephants (which often look red because of the Tsavo dust in which they bathe) and lions (many of the males don’t have manes). You also have a chance of seeing rhino, hippo, hyena, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and even leopard, as well as many different kinds of birds (over 400 types have been seen here).

Morning

• Breakfast, Amboseli Sopa Lodge
•  The guided game drive is the best thing about going on safari and that’s what you’ll be doing this morning in Amboseli National Park. From the comfort of your vehicle, there’s always a chance that you might see some of the animals that you came so far to see.

Mid-morning

• Transfer by Road, Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West National Park

Afternoon

This afternoon you’ll go on a guided game drive through Tsavo West, looking for elephants, rhinos and big cats as you go.

The views from the open-fronted restaurant at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge sweep out beyond a waterhole and across the plains towards Mt Kilimanjaro, which is one reason among many to linger over your meals here. The rooms are large and have traditional safari colors and mosquito nets, there’s a swimming pool and a gift shop, and the location deep in Tsavo West National Park is also a winner.
